The State of Alabama NAACP Labor and Industry Committee is pleased to present the Walter Reuther Essay Writing and Scholarship Contest for high school students.
Each year, as part of the Alabama NAACP State Convention and in recognition of Mr. Walter Reuther, the Labor and Industry Committee provides students with a monetary scholarship based on a written essay addressing the impact of labor unions.
The 2025 Walter Reuther Essay topic is "Labor Unions: All-in: What are Unions Doing in the Community to Improve the Quality of Life'
This year's event will be held at the Hotel Capstone in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Our Walter Reuther Scholarships, Labor Roundtable event, Worker and Human Rights Breakfast are the highlights of the weekend.
